Satellite services provider Intelsat has collaborated with Digital Networks and signed a multi-year deal to help provide the company with capacity using its satellite fleet and IntelsatOne terrestrial network. This will allow Digital Networks, a provider of business-class satellite solutions to the energy sector, to support very small aperture terminal (VSAT) communications networks in North America.
Digital Networks will also leverage the capacity and teleport services of Intelsat on the Galaxy 3C satellite to help expand its network in Canada and the United States.
In a company statement, Digital Network CEO Curtis Blankenship said: “This agreement will enable Digital Networks to quadruple its available throughput for delivering integrated voice, data and real-time applications for our energy customers. With the energy services sector in North America expanding quickly, Intelsat was able to provide a solution that could help us support our customers’ strategic growth plans, positioning us well for the future.”
“Digital Networks’ energy customers require seamless communications in some of the harshest, most challenging environments imaginable,” Intelsat RVP of North America sales Mark Rasmussen said. “Intelsat is uniquely capable of delivering a reliable, highly scalable platform that can support these requirements, in North America and beyond.”
