Finmeccanica’s Defense and Security Electronics company, SELEX Elsag, has launched an innovative Micro VSAT system that is redefining how satellite terminals are viewed today. The ultra lightweight device is compatible with the X and Ku band spectrums, and has been designed to weather various conditions regardless of its compactness.
SELEX Elsag said that the Micro VSAT delivers state-of-the-art use requirements perfect for both military and commercial users. The multiband terminal features a GPS positioning system and inclinometers, allowing its antenna to align with a satellite accurately and quickly. The Micro VSAT has also been designed to allow easy set-up. Users simply have to take it from its single Peli case, and make use of the intuitive display system, and set-up will take less than five minutes.
According to SELEX, the integrated terminal weighs only 23 Kg thanks to its motor-driven like software system which delivers user-friendly displays to the operator, while reducing weight and power consumption.
